Founder and developer · SoloDesks, built for UK solo trades
The developer behind SoloDesks. Not a tradesperson, which is why every number on the site carries its source.
About
I am the developer who builds SoloDesks. I am not a tradesperson: no time on the tools, no family in the trade, and I am not based in the UK. I say that first because you would find it out anyway, and because it is the reason the site works the way it does. What I have instead of war stories is a rule. Every tax threshold, statutory interest rate and day rate published on SoloDesks carries the source it came from and the date a human last checked it. Someone who has been on site for twenty years can tell you the CIS deduction from memory. I would rather show you where the number came from, so you can check it without trusting me. I write the guides, build the software and answer the support email. There is nobody else. The page you are reading is the same business profile every SoloDesks account gets, filled in.

30% if the subcontractor is not registered, 0% on gross payment status.

What I do
Every SoloDesks account gets a business profile like this one. Yours is a link you can text to a customer who asks what you do, and it is filled in from the same Settings form in one sitting.
Make yours, freeOr see one filled in by a plumber
A business profile is on the free plan, photo gallery and all. The price list, the brand colour and the social links are Pro.
