Free plan · No card · No expiry
Free invoicing software for tradespeople, with the limits printed on the box.
Most free invoicing software turns out to be a fortnight's trial, a card up front, or somebody else's logo on the invoice your customer opens. This is free without any of those. Below is exactly what free covers, and exactly where it stops.
Nothing to install. Any phone browser. About four minutes to your first quote.

What free actually covers
Not a teaser tier. 10 invoices a month is a real month for a lot of solo trades, and if it is not enough for yours, you will know inside a fortnight rather than after you have moved your whole client list across.
| Free | Pro, £12/mo | |
|---|---|---|
| Quotes a month | 10 | Unlimited |
| Invoices a month | 10 | Unlimited |
| Emailed PDFs a month | 10 | Unlimited |
| One-tap accept links | 3 | Unlimited |
| Clients | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Jobs on the calendar | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Card to sign up | None | At upgrade |
| Expiry date | Never | Cancel anytime |
| Your logo on PDFs | No | Yes |
| SoloDesks mark on PDFs | Yes | Removed |
| Chases overdue invoices for you | No | Yes |
The monthly counters reset on the first. Nothing is deleted when you reach one, and nothing is deleted if you ever drop from Pro back to free: your clients, jobs, quotes and invoices stay where they are. Full pricing.
Is there a free unlimited invoicing app?
It is the most common thing typed after "free invoice software", so here is the straight answer in two halves rather than a page that says yes and hopes you do not count.
Genuinely unlimited, genuinely free
The invoice generator, with no account at all
Type the job, download a professional PDF, send it. It is built in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded anywhere and there is no counter on it. If all you need is the document, that page is the entire answer and you never have to sign up for anything.

That part is Pro, and it is £12 a month
Unlimited quotes, invoices and emails, your own logo on every PDF, and the overdue chasing that happens without you having to send the awkward message. Flat, per business. Pro is not on sale yet, and the founding list is how you get up to 6 months of it free when it opens.
Get free months of ProWhy most free invoicing software is not
Four shapes, and you have probably met all of them. None of this makes those products bad; it makes the word "free" on a search results page close to meaningless, which is why this page spends its first screen on a table instead.
- The trial clock
- Fourteen days, then it stops. A trial tells you whether you like the software. It cannot tell you whether you will still be using it in March, which is the only question worth asking about admin.
- No clock. The free plan has no end date on it.
- The card up front
- Free, but type your card number first and set a reminder to cancel. The card is not there to bill you now, it is there because most people forget.
- No card. Nothing to cancel, so nothing to forget.
- Somebody else's logo on your invoice
- The document your customer opens carries an advert for the app that made it. On a £3,000 kitchen that is the wrong impression to hand somebody at the moment they are deciding to pay you.
- A small SoloDesks mark on the free plan, and we say so here rather than at the download button. £12 removes it and puts your own logo there.
- The price per user
- Fine for a firm with five vans. On your own you pay a team rate for the one login you will ever have: Tradify is £34 per user, per month as published in July 2026.
- £12 a month for the business, not the seat. There is no second-user line because there is no second user.
We keep a roundup of eight invoicing apps with the price of each one and the date we last read it off their own site, and we are not first on it. If per-seat pricing is the thing that sent you looking, the argument for pricing per business is its own page.
What you can do without paying anything
- Price it in their hallway
- Add the lines on your phone while you are standing there, and send a professional PDF quote before you have packed the van. Ten of those a month on the free plan.
- Turn the yes into an invoice
- An accepted quote becomes an invoice carrying the same lines and the same price. You do not retype the job at nine at night, and the number they agreed to is the number they get billed.
- Know what you are owed
- One total for the money that has not landed, and a list of which invoices have gone quiet. Free accounts get the list. Pro is what does the chasing for you.
- See tomorrow before it starts
- Jobs on a calendar with the address attached, so the morning begins with a postcode instead of a scroll back through your messages.

Questions people actually ask
- Is there free invoicing software for tradesmen?
- Yes, and this is one of them. SoloDesks has a free plan that needs no card and has no expiry date: 10 quotes, 10 invoices and 10 emailed PDFs a month, plus 3 one-tap accept links, with unlimited clients and unlimited jobs on the calendar. It is built for one-person trade businesses rather than for firms with staff, so there is nothing on the screen about crews, timesheets or dispatch.
- Can I send unlimited invoices for free?
- Two honest answers. If you only need the document, our free invoice generator makes as many PDFs as you like with no account and no counter, because it builds them in your browser. Inside the app, unlimited quotes and invoices are the Pro plan at £12 a month; the free plan stops at 10 invoices in a calendar month. Anybody advertising unlimited everything, free and forever, is being paid some other way.
- What happens when I hit the 10 a month?
- The app tells you, and the counter resets on the first of the next month. Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked: your clients, jobs, quotes and invoices stay exactly where they are, and you can still get at all of them. You either wait for the month to turn or move to Pro at £12.
- Do I need a card to start?
- No. There is no card field on the signup form, no trial to cancel and no reminder to set. An email address and a password is the whole of it, and you can be sending a quote about four minutes later.
- Will my invoice have your name on it?
- On the free plan a small SoloDesks mark sits on the PDF. Pro removes it and puts your own logo in its place. We would rather tell you that here than have you find it on the invoice you just sent to a customer.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes, and it was built that way round. It runs in any phone browser with nothing to install, you can add it to your home screen like a normal app, and it keeps working well enough to look things up when the signal drops in somebody's cellar.
- Is it really free, or is it free for now?
- The free plan is a plan, not a promotion, and it is how most people will use SoloDesks. It is paid for by the people who move to Pro for unlimited invoices and automatic chasing. That is the whole business model, and it is a better one for you than being the product.
- Can I use it if I am VAT registered or on CIS?
- Yes. Invoices handle VAT at the standard rate, and there are free calculators on the site for VAT, CIS deductions and late-payment interest that use published HMRC figures with the date we last checked them printed underneath.
